YG Tickets

YG is the stage name of American rapper and hip hop artist Kennon Daequan Ray Jackson. Hailing from the musical hotbed of Compton, California, YG is one of the most recent phenom sensations to burst onto the national hip hop scene. He has become known for his explicit lyricism and high production value, both of which have been integral in driving YG to the front of a crowded pack of up-and?-coming rappers. While his career only began in 2008, YG has already gained a loyal following that extends not only throughout the West Coast, but also around the nation. Take in this sensational rapper live by purchasing your YG tickets today!

Early years
Even in his earliest years of rapping and performing, YG was already collaborating with some big names from across the industry. Notably, YG was involved in the formation of Pu$haz Ink, a recording label which he started with producer DJ Mustard. Throughout this project, YG began to release his own songs, often filming music videos for them and putting them up on the popular video-sharing platform YouTube. After gaining listeners with tracks like “She a Model,” YG began to catch the attention of major players in the music industry. His hard work paid off as he received his first big break in 2009, earning a signing offer from Def Jam Records in 2009.

Rise to fame
YG’s career was briefly put on hold following his signing with Def Jam, as he was arrested in connection with a residential burglary. This didn’t stop the young star, though, as he quickly rebounded by releasing his debut single “Toot It and Boot It” in 2010. The song featured Ty Dolla Sign, another California-based hip hop artist, and garnered both artists newfound levels of attention. Riding on the success of this single, YG went on to release several mixtapes while being sponsored by Def Jam. Among them were The Real 4 Fingaz and Just Re’d Up. While these tapes were met with moderate success and public attention, they were small projects in contrast to YG’s debut full-length album, My Krazy Life.

My Krazy Life and commercial success
In 2014, YG released My Krazy Life and his career instantly reached new heights. The album was deemed controversial by many for both its lyrical content and its album artwork. The record features a picture of YG posed as though he’s being photographed for a mugshot. My Krazy Life spawned a plethora of hit songs, many of them driven by collaborations with more established artists. While the album had faced considerable production delays, it made up for it in its extensive features list. The record was driven by the lead single “My Nigga,” which featured Rich Homie Quan. Its second and third most popular tracks were “Who Do You Love” and “Left, Right,” the former of which featured a verse by Canadian phenom Drake.
