Washington Redskins Tickets

For more than 80 years, the Washington Redskins have been a staple of the National Football League. During that time, they have forged one of the most loyal fan bases in the NFL which regularly picks up Washington Redskins tickets and pack FedEx Field to capacity.

The Washington Redskins’ origins date back to 1932 when they became members of the National Football League, and it wasn’t long before they were making waves in the league. They belong to the NFC Eastern Division. Since their NFL start the Redskins were once known as the Boston Braves and the Boston Redskins before relocating and becoming the Washington Redskins in 1937. Following the Redskins’ move to the D.C. area, the team had a hard go at it until their luck was regained in the 1970s.

Despite their rough start, the Redskins gained ground with ownership to more than 10 division, four conference and five league championships including several Super Bowl triumphs. In total, the Skins have made more than 20 Playoff appearances which lends to the thought that they are the second most valuable team in the league. Their success continued even after the NFL merged with the AFL in 1970 they captured three Super Bowl titles in 1982, 1987 and 1991 all behind the direction of legendary coach Joe Gibbs. This period also saw the emergence of quarterback Joe Theismann. He guided the Skins to their 1982 title before retiring in 1985.

Given their lengthy history of success, the Redskins have developed some of the fiercest rivalries in the league. Division rivalries with the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants are still strong, though the most intense of the team’s battles dates back to the 1960s with the Dallas Cowboyswhen they first joined the league. The team’s annual match-ups with the Dallas Cowboys have long been legendary. In 2012, the arrival of standout rookie quarterback Robert Griffin, III, a Texas native brought the rivalry to new heights. The Skins and conference foe New York Giants have a long history of memorable games including many good battles during their respective heydays in the 1980s.

The Redskins play at FedEx Field in neighboring Landover, Maryland. Tackle your chance to see some of the finest professional football when you purchase your Washington Redskins tickets today!
