Veruca Salt Concert Tickets

In Chicago in 1993, Nina Gordon and Louise Post formed the band Veruca Salt with the drummer Jim Shapiro and bassist Steve Lack. Post and Gordon spent time writing songs alternately and later recording the other instruments. The band’s name comes from the infamous spoiled character in Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” The ensemble soon caught the attention of Minty Fresh Records and signed with the independent label. Veruca Salt tickets will bring concertgoers a night of alt-rock pleasure.

After signing with Minty Fresh Records, Veruca Salt put out the single “Seether.” The song was such a success that the band was quickly asked to tour as the opening act for Hole. It wasn’t until 1994 that the band released its first full album, titled American Thighs. “Seether” continued to climb the charts and made a name for itself on MTV. Soon, the band left Minty Fresh Records to sign with Geffen Records, where they released their second album, Eight Arms to Hold You, in 1997. The group found acclaim for their song “Volcano Girls,” which was featured on the TV show “Jawbreakers.” Veruca Salt released many more records, and in 2014 signed again with Minty Fresh to release the album MMXIV.
