We were seated way in the back, but the sound was v good with a Large band. This was not the Astral Weeks show from the spring, instead He performed a mix of songs from various albums, including the well known hits- 'Moondance', 'Have I told you lately' . Best part for us was hearing the rarely performed favorites of ours 'in the garden' and 'Philisopher's stone'. While he didn't talk to the audience, his voice and performing were in good form. he added a 'lets hear it for the band', but did not introduce them. 90 minute show. an encore would have been a plus, but not part of the show this time.

He never addressed the crowd that paid [$] a ticket. He never introduced or acknowledged the musicians. Swore at the band and the roadies. Did not even play all of the album Astral Weeks and walked off stage leaving the band without a curtain call or encore. The lights came on and the boos rained down.

Complete waste of time and money. VM doesn't even make the effort to enunciate what he is saying. Nasty to his band, ignores audience- all from such a spiritual, deep person. He needs help.

This show was terrific! Tight group, great selection of Astral Weeks-era songs... he also did a rather nice and more recent (1997) Burning Ground. The tickets were [$] each and Van just bolted without an encore. Many people booed at the end after feeling ripped off. You shouldn't pay to see Van and expect him to invite you backstage for a backrub. He is a musical genius and an arrogant jerk at the same time.
