The U.S. Women's Open brings together 156 professional and amateur golfers to compete for one of the world's most prestigious titles in women's golf. Pick up U.S. Women's Open golf tickets and scope out the new talent as well as the seasoned professionals.

Conducted by the United States Golf Association, the competition started in 1946 in Spokane, Washington, when Patty Berg took the first title. Since then, it's been a career-maker for many big names in the sport, including Inbee Park, Annika Sorenstam and Paula Creamer. It's open to any applicant with a handicap of 4.4 or lower, according to USGA standards.

For 2013, the event will take place at the Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, New York, and spectator attendance is expected to exceed 130,000. Along with new names to the game, participants will include longtime players like Natalie Gulbis and Michelle Wie. Cristie Kerr and Paula Creamer, both previous winners of the Open, will also play.
