Best tennis event I've been to (beats Wimbledon!). I got tickets for the Ground Admission 3rd round fase, and had plenty of access to see top players in action. Wife + other people not tennis fans loved it too - there are a few shops / bars / places to eat, in between the courts where - if you so wish - you can take a break from tennis. Make sure to take a cap to shade yourself from unmerciful sun.

Alot more entertaining then I anticipated...US Open is a must see for anyone who enjoys tennis...just be ready to open your wallet...it is expensive, but well worth it.
As long as you go with an open mind and do not have your heart set on seeing a specific person, Grounds are the best tickets around. Over the years I've gotten lucky and seen Serena and Sampras courtside, but also discovered the new kids on the block battling it out on the back courts.
Attending the US Open is a must if you're a tennis fan. General admission gets you onto the grounds at 10 - matches commence at 11 and often go until 10 at night. We went on Aug 30 and 31 and saw almost 25 hours of tennis!
