University of Michigan Wolverines Men's College Basketball Tickets
Though Michigan University may be best known for its historic football program, it's men's basketball team has had its fair share of success as well. The Wolverines have been at the front of the Big Ten Conference for decades, and Michigan men's basketball tickets give fans the chance to experience a Big Ten rivalry, whether it be against Ohio State or Wisconsin, up close.

The early seasons of Michigan basketball barely resemble the program today. The team was overshadowed by the football program for decades but by the 1960s they began to make headway. In fact, in 1964 and 1965 the Wolverines managed to reach the Final Four, and by the 1980s they were playing in the NCAA Tournament on a regular basis. The transformation of the team from middling Big Ten member to National Title contender can be traced largely to the guidance of coach Steve Fisher. Fisher was handed the reigns of a team in turmoil in 1989 and eventually guided the Wolverines to their first National Championship when they defeated Seton Hall in overtime thanks to a strong performance from Glen Rice.

Fisher would eventually go on to coach at the school until 1997. During that time he brought the Wolverines to two more National Championship games, though they eventually lost both. During those years he was blessed with one of the best teams the game has ever seen. The so-called Fab Five of Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson are credited with ushering a new era of college basketball.

In the years since the Fab Five, Michigan struggled to return to the level of success it experienced in the early '90s, but that's not to say the schools presence has faded. With a student section rivaling the best in the country, the Wolverines will continue to be a mainstay in the NCAA.
