Twenty One Pilots is an American musical duo that originated in Columbus, Ohio. The duo is made up of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, who came together in 2009. Twenty One Pilots started in Ohio and saw their following quickly spread across the Midwest through energetic LIVE shows and the shrewd use of interactive social media. The duo released their first debut album, the self-titled Twenty One Pilots, in 2010. The next year, they came out with yet another album, called Regional at Best. In 2012, they signed with the recording label Fueled by Ramen, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records, and released the Three Songs EP that summer. They worked with Adele's producer Greg Wells on their debut album under the record label Vessel.

The group got its name after studying a play called "All My Sons," which was written by Arthur Miller in the 1940s. It's about the moral crossroads people come to in life, and how decisions that are immediately beneficial often have negative consequences down the road. Making people think is always one of Twenty One Pilots' primary musical inspirations.
