Love it!

Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Lighting, Great Sound
Best For:
Everyone

I have seen TOOL several times and have only seen one off show but Maynard happen to be sick, hell it happens. They are a band that feeds off the fans, the more you focus on them and the music the more they put out. For best show, get indoor, center seats. Trust me, if you sit to the sides of the stage you miss half the show. If you can not get them, its ok, TOOL still puts on great show even from the side.

Tool Tickets

Tool hails from Los Angeles, circa 1990. The band’s sound can described as what would result if you put alternative metal, progressive rock and progressive metal in a blender. Whatever genre label you slap on Tool doesn’t do them justice as their sound continues to evolve and morph with each Tool album. Since their inception, the band released several successful studio albums. They won several awards including Best Metal Performance for songs “Ænima” and “Schism” and Best Recording Package for album “10,000 Days.” Tool has continued to progress in standing, gain critical praise and pick up a devoted fan base over the course of their career. A Tool ticket is a passport to creativity live in action!

From “Opiate” to “Undertow” through “Aenima”, “Salival”, “Lateralus” and “10,000 Days”, Tool is constantly pushing the envelope. In 1993 “Undertow” was pulled from store shelves due to the graphic nature of its liner notes. Tool reacted by rereleasing the album with a white background and a barcode printed on the cover. The band’s video for their follow-up single “Prison Sex” was banned on MTV. Despite the controversy, and maybe due to it, Tool was launched to the second stage at Lollapalooza that year. In 1996 “Stinkfist” the first single off of “Aenima” garnered yet another negative reaction from the media. Internal strife gave the band pause in 2000, and Keenan took the opportunity to play with A Perfect Circle. All the controversy surrounding Tool and their run-ins with the establishment consistently made Tool tickets a hot item. The 2006 Coachella Music Festival sold tickets in mass with the band on the bill.

Tool is not only renowned for their intense sound; they are also revered for their art-rock performances on stage. Their music rocks hard, but you don’t actually experience Tool until you see Maynard James Keenan rocking out on stage live. The surge for Tool tickets is easily explained by the band’s style-breaking performance fusing musical exploration, visual arts and a message of individual progression. Fan reviews applaud the visual performance, dark themes and raucous music of a LIVE Tool concert. One of the most enigmatic rock-art bands, Tool tickets translate into live artistic intensity. Tool Biography

Tool's greatest breakthrough was to meld dark underground metal with the ambition of art rock. Although Metallica wrote their multi-sectioned, layered songs as if they were composers, they kept their musical attack ferociously at street level. Tool didn't. They embraced the artsy, bohemian preoccupations of Jane's Addiction while they simultaneously paid musical homage to the relentlessly bleak visions of grindcore, death metal, and thrash. Even with their post-punk influences, they executed their music with the aesthetic of prog rock, alternating between long, detailed instrumental interludes and lyrical rants in their songs.

Tool had a knack for conveying the strangled, oppressive angst that the alternative nation of the early '90s claimed as its own. So, Tool were able to slip into the definition of alternative rock during the post-Nirvana era, landing a slot on the third ~Lollapalooza tour in 1993, which helped their first full-length debut album, Undertow, rocket to platinum status. By the time the band delivered its belated follow-up, nima, in 1996, alternative rock had lost its grip on the mainstream of America, and Tool's audience had shaped up as essentially metal-oriented, which meant that the group and the record didn't capture as big an audience as their first album, despite debuting at number two on the charts. After a co-headlining slot with Korn on ~Lollapalooza '97 wrapped up, Tool remained on the road, supporting nima until well into the next year.

During the band's usual extended hiatus between albums, Maynard James Keenan decided to use his downtime productively by forming a side project, dubbed A Perfect Circle. The band's 2000 debut, Mer de Noms, was a surprise hit, while the ensuing tour was a sold-out success as well. With Tool breakup rumors swirling, the band put the speculation to rest by re-entering the recording studio and issuing the stopgap B-sides/DVD set Salival late the same year. Finally, May 2001 saw the release of Tool's third full-length release, Lateralus, which debuted at the number one position on the ~Billboard album chart and became the band's biggest hit. After the obligatory several-year sabbatical to pursue other projects, the group returned with another chart-topper, 10,000 Days, in 2006. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine & Greg Prato, Rovi
