What a Bummer
By BoomBoom Bummer from Bellevue, WA on 8/20/2008
My son and I were very excited to attend the Tony Hawk BoomBoom HuckJam at the White River Amphitheater. Having never been to White River, I read reviews that said the parking situation is horrible and that the shuttle from the Super Mall is the way to go. We arrived early at the Super Mall, didn't see a shuttle and waited. After a bit, we went to Red Robin to ask where the shuttle was. They told us that there wasn't one. So, we drove and found that parking was easy, (we arrived at 4:45). Once inside, the lower section of the amphitheater was open seating. Unfortunately, the only seats that allow you to see the entire half pipe were roped off. I can't imagine being any further from the center than we were and being able to see anything at all.
After waiting 1 1/2 hours for the show to start, it began. The stunts that the guys were doing were good, but 40 minutes into the show, they said, "Are you ready for the finale?" I thought they were joking, but they weren't. The show ended 55 minutes after it started. We were told that the weather wouldn't allow for the motorcycles, etc., but I wonder where they would have had them flying in that venue.
Bottom line, a huge waste of money and an even bigger waste of time. The last one I took my kids to in Tacoma was great. This time it was really lame.
