Toad the Wet Sprocket Concert Tickets

Originally formed in 1986 and still going strong, Toad the Wet Sprocket has been delivering its version of alternative jam-band rock to audiences for nearly 30 years. The band, which is named after a Monty Python sketch, found most of its commercial success in the 1990s with songs like "Walk on the Ocean" and "All I want." The name of the band has always been one of its biggest selling points, even though, as lead vocalist Glen Phillips says, it was only meant to be temporary. With their first gig coming up back in 1986, they were still without a name, and initially settled on the long-lasting moniker as a joke. But when they began to take off, with the name being a major part of their rising popularity, they decided to stick with it.

For his part, Monty Python's Eric Idle, who wrote the sketch from which the name was taken, has embraced the extended legacy of a short, audio-only comedy bit he wrote well over a decade before the band of the same name rose to popularity.

After making its biggest dent in the recording industry in the 90s, Toad broke up in 1998, went their separate ways for a decade, then reformed in 2008. Don't miss your chance to see Toad the Wet Sprocket LIVE! Buy your Toad the Wet Sprocket tickets now!
