Thievery Corporation Concert Tickets

Thievery Corporation, a Washington, D.C.-based DJ collective, got its start in the summer of 1995. Rob Garza, one of the group’s founding members, was spending time at the Eighteenth Street Lounge in D.C., where he met Eric Hilton, who co-owned the club. The two quickly bonded over their love for music, particularly, dub, electronic, jazz and bossa nova, which led to them forming the record label, Eighteenth Street Lounge Music. Having gained critical acclaim since then for their innovative approach to electronic music, Thievery Corporation have emerged as leaders in defining several subsets of the genre. Fans of electronic, bossa nova infused music should pick up some Thievery Corporation tickets today.

In addition to receiving a great deal of acclaim for their music, the group has made themselves very active politically, taking firm stances opposing war with their music. Thievery Corporation released numerous tracks speaking out against the actions of the administration of former President George W. Bush and also participated in the Operation Ceasefire Concert in 2005, advocating to end the Iraq war. They’ve also spoken out against the International Monetary Fund and advocate heavily for ending global hunger through the World Food Programme. On April 1, 2014, Thievery Corporation released Saudade, its ninth studio album.
