The Monkees may have started as an act for a television show, but they wound up being a bona fide quartet of late 1960’s bubblegum pop. Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and Davy Jones continued to record as a legitimate musical act after the two year series they starred in was canceled. Turning out timeless hits “I'm a Believer,” “(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone,” “Daydream Believer,” “Last Train to Clarksville” and “Pleasant Valley Sunday,” The Monkees are forever ingrained in TV and music history with their Beatle-esque overtones. Take this opportunity to see the immortalized talent and history live in concert; purchase your The Monkees tickets today!
The unconventional beginning of The Monkees led to an equally unconventional career. Following the end of their TV series and at the start of their solely music career, the band brushed elbows with some of the top musical talent of the time. Through use of session musicians the band teamed with Neil Young, Carole King and even Neil Diamond. While touring England the band spent time with and were given a party by The Beatles. The friendships forged with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr during this time would continue over the years. The Monkees struggled to maintain a sense of artistic control over their music through the years. Often they were left out of the loop by their management even regarding the release of their albums. After they gained musical independence in 1967, The Monkees released “Headquarters” before slowly growing apart. While they continued to release albums like “Instant Replay” and “Justus,” the members came and went, broke up and reunited in an ebb and flow. Though the members of the band focused on solo projects, they just could not help drifting back together to reunite time and again.
A great concert experience for the whole family, reviews from concertgoers celebrate The Monkees as an icon of pop culture and holler “amazing!” Join the legions that are in the know and get the chance to experience The Monkees live in concert.
