Taj Mahal Concert Tickets

Taj Mahal is an American Blues singer, songwriter and musician who has influenced the traditional blues scene for more than 40 years. His music is a fusion of blues, tribal African, Caribbean folk, jazz, gospel and reggae. Using the ethnic and cultural diversity of his heritage as motivation to create something new, Taj Mahal transcends any single genre and style. If you haven't bought your Taj Mahal tickets yet, get them now and listen to the sounds of one of the most prominent musicians of the 20th century.

Taj Mahal, aka, Henry Saint Clair Fredericks, Jr., fell in love with music at an early age. Both of his parents were professional performers - his father was a jazz pianist and composer and his mother was a gospel singer. He started taking classical piano lessons as a child, and then moved on to many other instruments, including clarinet, trombone, harmonica and guitar.

By 1964, he had become part of the musical scene in Los Angeles, forming a band called The Rising Suns, and he has been recording his signature style of music ever since. During the early 1990s Mahal worked with artists like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters and Lightinin' Hopkins. In 1998 he collaborated on Antonín Dvorák's album, Largo, along with Cyndi Lauper, Willie Nile, Joan Osborne, Rob Hyman and other artists. He went on to produce the Grammy award-winning albums Señor Blues in 1997 and Shoutin' in Key in 2000.
