Slipknot Concert Tickets

It's not very often that heavy metal bands achieve mainstream success, but Slipknot managed to do just that. The Iowa-based band has become famous for its jaw dropping performances, which are some of the most energy-filled shows around. And as anybody who has purchased Slipknot tickets can attest, it is certainly worth the price of admission.

Slipknot can trace its roots to 1995 when Shawn Crahan and Paul Gray decided to start a band. Though they enjoyed modest success in their early years, it was not until their self-titled studio debut in 1999 that Slipknot really took off. The record was met with considerable critical acclaim thanks to popular tracks like "Wait and Bleed" and "Spit it Out." Right out of the gate Slipknot was sharing the stage with other metal megastars like Slayer, Rob Zombie and System of a Down.

Though maybe one of the most entertaining, and tell tale signs of Slipknot’s twisted humor, is the band’s tour with Ricky Martin in late 1999. In the years after hitting it big, Slipknot tended to wait a long time in between each album, but it was well worth it. In 2008, the band released All Hope is Gone, which skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard 200 charts behind the power of singles like "Sulfur" and "Snuff."

During 2000s, Slipknot became best known for their tours. They performed relentlessly throughout the 2000s, and in 2011 embarked on the “Memorial World Tour” in honor of Gray, who passed away in 2010.
