The game was great, the location was easy to get to for out-of-towners, and the surrounding area was really nice for dinner. They really made you feel like they supported the Sharks. We loved the entire experience.

The San Jose Sharks, established in 1991, are a professional ice hockey franchise that are part of the Western Conference of the NHL. Current members of the Pacific Division, the Sharks play their home games in San Jose, California, at the HP Pavilion, referred to by locals as Shark Tank. The Bay Area had been home to the California Golden Seals until their departure in 1976, leaving San Francisco and the surrounding area hungry for a hometown professional hockey franchise. For their freshman and sophomore season the Sharks scraped the bottom of the league suffering massive losing streaks and setting several NHL worst records. It wasn't until well into the team's second season that they posted their first shutout against the Los Angeles Kings 6-0. In their third season the San Jose Sharks finally began to turn their luck around, making it to the playoffs 58 points ahead of their previous season. The team went on to upset the series defeating the favored Detroit Red Wings before being defeated by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round. Losses aside fans don't despair because as long as the team scores four goals in a game San Jose Sharks tickets equal free grub for the ticketholder from whatever restaurant the team has a deal with at that given time. In 2002 the team acquired their first Pacific Division title, defeating rival Phoenix Coyotes before taking their usual tumble in the second round. Meanwhile the Sharks keep on battling it out on the ice with Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks rivals in hopes of a shot at the illustrious Stanley Cup Finals.
