Chili Peppers Rock Houston!
By DaBumpsta from Houston, TX on 3/20/2007
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting, Great Sound
Best For:

Great Set. Great Sound. Great Performances. Gnarls Barkley suprised me and got the crowd warmed up. Chili Peppers perform with more energy than young bands. Best lead guitarist I've heard live. Flea rips bass riffs that leave you stunned. Great mix of old and new stuff. Encore had crowd going wild.

Peppers, we don't eat no stinking pepper

Poor Set List, Too Hot

Casual Fans, Die-Hards Only

The lead singer's voice was wonderful. Close to cds but natural, but we didn't get to hear it enough. Love the older stuff, but the crowd was pretty young and the band was into the younger customers. Everyone around us was having a great time, dancing and singing. Nice to see kids like stuff besides MTV [...]. Most concerts cost so much only people my age can afford it, but this was a mixed bag of very young and then 40s to 50s. I guess the youngsters can find the money if the desire to see the band is strong enough.

Honestly it was the best show ive seen in a long time. The battle of the guitars was the best. The crowd was soo lov'in it. There wasn't enough of the Great Anthony Keidis, but when he did come forward it was eletrifying. The amount of enery this man has is amazing. The crowd was feeding off of his energy. I will definately see this band numerous times to come.

RHCP Concert Tickets

One of the most prolific rock bands of all time, the Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) have become a household name since forming in the 1980s in Los Angeles. They’ve been able to capture the hearts of a broad audience by incorporating a vast range of sounds including rock ’n’ roll, funk, hip-hop, pop and soul. Much of the band’s musical versatility is attributed to the fact that the lineup has undergone many changes over the more than thirty years that they’ve been around. Currently, the roster consists of Anthony Kiedis on vocals, Chad Smith on drums, Josh Klinghoffer on lead guitar and Michael Balzary, also known as Flea, on bass. Known for selling out large arenas across the country, the Red Hot Chili Peppers hold a stage presence that is second to none in terms of energetic performance. Purchase your Red Hot Chili Peppers tickets today to take in this cornerstone of popular American music!

The band first came to be in California in 1983. Initially, the lineup was considerably different, with Kiedis and Flea accompanied by Jack Irons on drums and the late Hillel Slovak on guitar. The four began to jam together after being introduced and quickly attracted a contingent of fans with their infectious funk-rock blend. While this grouping of members is known as the original lineup, neither Slovak nor Irons appeared on the group’s first studio album, eponymously titled The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Irons would be present on the next two albums released by the group, but ultimately would depart shortly after Slovak passed away from a heroin overdose. Through this tragic series of events, the band’s most permanent lineup, featuring Flea and Kiedis with guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith, came to fruition in the late 1980s. While Frusciante has since left the group to pursue solo work- replaced by Klinghoffer - he was known as a large part of the band’s signature sound for nearly two decades.

Critical acclaim
Few groups in the history of American music have experienced the level of success enjoyed by RHCP. From a commercial standpoint, they are one of the most prolific groups of all time, selling more than 80 million albums across the globe. Throughout the course of their career, they’ve put out a staggering ten albums including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Freaky Styley, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Mother’s Milk, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, One Hot Minute, Californication, By the Way, Stadium Arcadium and I’m With You. These albums, released across a 27 year span, track the group’s progression from their funk roots to everything from psychedelic rock to pop music.

Stadium Arcadium
One of the band’s most successful ventures, Stadium Arcadium is the only double album ever put out by RHCP and the last record on which Frusciante played. It resulted in a world tour including many sold out shows and a number of radio hits such as “Snow,” “Charlie,” “Dani California” and “Wet Sand.” Following this, the group would fill Frusciante’s spot with Klinghoffer and go to work on I’m With You, which was driven by the pop hit “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie.”
