First timer - got my Grove [...]
By Amber Bock from Los Angeles, CA on 1/29/2007
Audience Loved It, More than I expected
Best For:
Everyone, Special Occasions

The Grove is an intimate venue and resembles more of a jr. high cafetorium than a large scale venue. Parking was a bit high ($8.00) but ample and a short walk to the door. This show was WAY better than I ever expected! There was so much food for sale in the lobby - don't know if that's a regular thing or if it was because of Ralphie May's request - churros, sandwiches, chicken, you name it along with a few bars selling sodas ($5.00 a piece) and overpriced booze. I've got a new fave comedian. I mean, I knew Ralphie was OK from seeing him on Last Comic Standing, but live and in his own element, he was unbelievably hilarious. He told the audience that he was contracted for an hour, but ended up doing almost a two hour set! His wife was one of the show openers - cute, but very Lisa Loeb with her guitar. She was well received and somewhat funny, but I think the crowd was antsy wanting to see the headliner. We had second row seats and the chairs were really close to each other - I kept bumping into my neighbor when I was doubled over laughing, but even with the concert-goers waaay in the back, they easily had good views with the huge screens on either side of the stage projecting what was going on. No ethnicity or topic was safe from Ralphie - he hit everyone below the belt and enjoyed himself the entire time. He is a genuine person and seemed to really care about his fans, even vowing to stay until the last person left so me could meet & greet everybody. Such a sweetheart in a big way and funny, funny, funny! If Ralphie comes to your town you MUST see this show, and God Bless the [...]!

Ralphie May Theater Tickets

With a big personality and a disarming southern drawl, Ralphie May has emerged as one of the most genial stand-up comedians around today. Since breaking through on the competition "Last Comic Standing," the Tennessee native has gained a loyal fan following and Ralphie May tickets have become a popular item.

Ralphie May was one of the first big names to come out of "Last Comic Standing." He starred on the competitions inaugural season and finished second overall. Despite his runner up finish, he went on to become a staple on the late night talk show circuit and eventually went on to record a number of stand-up specials on Comedy Central.

In the years since he burst on the scene, Ralphie May's popularity has not wavered, whether he's joking about his first experiences living in Los Angeles or going to the movies. He has continued to release new material at a surprisingly fast rate, including the hit 2011 album, Too Big To Ignore.

There are a number of popular names in stand-up today, from Louis C.K. to Aziz Ansari, and Ralphie May certainly belongs in the conversation.
