Best For:

I grew up listening to the Beatles. We were in New York and were able to get fantastic seats for Rain on Christmas at the Neil Simon Theatre. Simply a blast! Everyone was dancing and singing along. The guys were so talented and engaging - it was a terrific tribute.

Kicked out for having fun
By Orthoman from Danbury, CT on 12/13/2010
Pros:
Talented musicians, Wonderful music
Cons:
Unprofessional management

My fiance and I were the unwitting victims of a very unpleasant incident at the 3:00 P.M. performance of Rain on Sunday, 12/12/10 at the Neil Simon Theatre. We love the Beatles and thusly, were very excited to see the show. I can tell you that we were not disappointed with the performance or, should I say, the portion that we saw. We are both in our fifties but we felt and acted like teenagers when the show began. We sang along to all of the songs, we stood and applauded and yes, we even danced in the aisle adjacent to our second row seats that I paid hundreds of dollars for. We truly loved every second of the performance and I could really understand what all the fuss was about when the Beatles originally came to the United States. At the end of the first act, we were approached by "Steve", a young man from security, who told us that we had been behaving inappropriately and that he had the power and the authority to ask us to leave the theater which he did. Of course, we were shocked. I tried to reason with this extremely unprofessional man and asked him to explain why we were being thrown out. He refused to speak with me but booted us out onto the street, nonetheless. We are extremely heartbroken that we were unable to see the remainder of the show and very angry with the way we were treated. No one behind us asked us to sit down and no one from security told us that we were not behaving within the confines of the theater's policies. We were not warned, even once. We were just approached and told to leave. If ANYONE had said ANYTHING to us regarding how our actions were negatively affecting the performers or the audience, we would have immediately sat down and enjoyed the remainder of the show. In fact, the only person who mentioned anything prior to our ejection was the musician who was portraying Paul. He pointed to us and said that he was glad we were enjoying the show. This was a highpoint of the afternoon to be sure but was followed by mistreatment from an inexperienced and rather rude man who does not, I trust, represent the best that your theater has to offer. He was truly awful. I gave "Steve" my phone number and my e-mail address and asked him to call me today (12/13/10) regarding the incident. He refused to give me his contact information but absolutely assured me that he would call. It didn't surprise me nor should it surprise you that he did not. We are angry and hurt and want reparations. I would like to attend another performance of Rain, in its entirety and I would like to sit near where our original seats were (Row BB, Seats 108 and 109). I would like an apology from "Steve" and from the management of the Neil Simon Theatre. My tickets clearly state that "management reserves the right to refuse admission to or eject any person deemed to be disorderly". We were not being disorderly. We were having FUN. If this practice is frowned upon or simply not tolerated by your organization, then I withdraw my request for tickets to another show. You will never see me in the Neil Simon Theatre again. I await your response.

Rain the best band to cover the beatles I have ever seen. They look and sound just like the Beatles. I took my six year old son and he is now the next generation Beatle/Rain fan.
