2008 Raggamuffins Festival - Long Beach
By True Love Reggae from SF Bay Area on 2/23/2008
Pros:
Not one Pro to mention
Cons:
Blown Speakers, MCs were the worst, No place to sit, Poor Sound Quality, Too Short
Best For:
No One
This festival is suppose to the the best of the year in the US - NOT! Poor production, the producer of this show just riped everyone off. The sound was wicked bad, blown speakers, way too loud for blown speakers - doesn't the sound company know what that poping is?!? Short artist sets. Extremely uncomfortable arena. No place to sit to eat. Could not even buy a bottle of water!
The vendors and the Jamaican food vendors were the only saving grace. Brown stew fish plate was wicked delicious!.
The MC's were a joke - and I don't mean funny - rude, awkward, asking for $, nothing to say, egotistical, no spiritual rasta vibe whatsoever. This whole production should be embarrassed and should apologize to all the Reggae music fans for bamboozeling everyone.
What happened? This used to be the show of the year. Someone that has $ and a love for Reggae music should buy this show out and turn it around and put on a show the respects the artists and the Reggae music fans and bring the vibe and music to the people as it should be done.
