Placido Domingo Theater Tickets

Anyone with an appreciation for music should get the chance to see Placido Domingo take the stage. This tenor has been regarded as one of the most influential artists in the history of opera. He got his start on October 17, 1965, at the New York City Opera when he made his debut as Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Since then, he has been entertaining and impressing audiences all over the world with his celebrated tenor voice. Grab your Placido Domingo tickets to hear his one-of-a-kind sound for yourself.

Born in 1941, Placido Domingo comes from a family with a strong musical background. In fact, his parents regularly sang in Spain’s musical theater. They’re the ones who got their son into music, giving him a role in their zarzuela troupe, which is a form of musical theater, in Mexico. He has graced the stages of a number of well-known and respected theaters, including the Metropolitan Opera, Berlin Staatsoper, La Scala, Covent Gardena and Madrid’s Teatro Real. He has also picked up an impressive number of awards, including 11 Grammy Awards, two Latin Grammy Awards and an Emmy for the television film Homage to Seville.

Another big milestone in Domingo’s career was when he founded Operalia in 1993. Operalia is a competition that is open to young opera singers internationally. This stage gave many youth the start to their singing career.
