Dating back to 1882, the Pittsburgh Pirates were originally called the Allegheny during independent baseball’s days of yore. Always based out of their home hub of Pittsburgh, the Pirates were the first American Association club to join the National League. The Pirates are a team with a depth and breadth of record that one thinks of when they look at the history of the sport. Due for another round of glory, the Buccos could shake things up and catch this season’s championship title. Don’t miss a moment of the action; get your Pittsburgh Pirates tickets today! The current Central Division team began its livelihood under many different titles until they garnered their present name in 1912. Akin to any baseball team that has been around for over 100 years, the Pittsburgh Pirates have been on the rollercoaster of ups and downs in their successes and letdowns. The Pirates own many division titles and pennants as well several World Series championship conquests. Past team rosters are padded with Baseball Hall of Famers including Ralph Kiner, Lloyd Waner and Willie Stargell. As is customary in the MLB world, rivalries run rampant. The Pirates’ primary opponents were the Philadelphia Phillies. This historical rivalry dates back to the late 1880s, when the Buccos became part of the National League. The competition between the two teams was fierce up until 1994, when the Pirates slid from the East Division to the Central division of the National league. Since that time the Pittsburgh team has not stirred up any new contentions. Regardless if they are home or away, the Pittsburgh Pirates draw crowds of fans that love the team’s level of play! Reviews declare that the Pirates is a great baseball experience for the whole family! Make sure that you are close to the action at PNC Park to cheer your favorite players on when you purchase your Pittsburgh Pirates baseball tickets today!
