Awesome Experience
By Striker Ted from Brooklawn, NJ on 10/15/2008
Pros:
Great Style Of Play, High Energy, Stadium Packed, The Crowd Loved It
Best For:
Everyone, New To The Sport, Out-Of-Towners

I could cheer no matter who scored. I love the Flyers and the Phantoms. Both teams were well matched. It wasn't rough and tough like i expected because they are basically the same team but it was still good hockey. A great experience I have memories i will keep with me the rest of my life.

Quite an interesting game...tough loss!
By Flyers '09 or bust! from Philadelphia, PA on 10/14/2008
Pros:
Great Style Of Play, High Energy, Stadium Packed, The Crowd Loved It
Cons:
Opposite teams fans, Team lost
Best For:
Everyone, New To The Sport

Interesting start to a wild game. Sarah Palin dropped the opening puck, which sent the very Democratic crowd into a frenzy of boos. Once that was over, the Rangers came out strong, silencing a raucous Opening Night crowd. Only cons, there were obnoxious Rangers fans behind me, and obviously, the Flyers lost. But my experience was great beyond those two items. I always recommend going to a game, whether you've never seen a game or have been watching for years. I think it's the greatest sport in the world.

Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Tickets

The City of Brotherly Love might boast some serious American history, but its sports teams are equally as well-known. Many visitors pick up Philadelphia Flyers tickets to see the professional NHL team rally in this bright and fabulous city. Flyers fans enjoy seeing the top players duke it out at the Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Philly.

The Philadelphia Flyers got their start as an expansion franchise in 1967 after the NHL decided to add more teams. In 1974, the Philadelphia Flyers were the first 1967 expansion team to win the Stanley Cup. The franchise is a part of the Eastern Conference of the NHL and was added to the league in 1967. In fact, the Flyers were the first team to join the league after the expansion of the original six. Not only do the Flyers play in one of the most historic cities around the nation, the team also boasts an impressive scoring record.

In the early years the Flyers were physically outmatched by their opponents, which led to a team mandate that players be bigger and tougher. During the 1972 to 1973 season the Philadelphia Flyers earned the moniker the Broad Street Bullies due to the team's rough play and fondness for fighting. If ice hockey and physical play get your attention, Philadelphia Flyers tickets are a must for you.

In addition to the Flyers' 1974 Stanley Cup win, they also took the prestigious triumph in 1975 behind tough, physical play from talented players. During that season the Flyers played and won an exhibition game against the domineering Soviet Union's Central Red Army team.

To start, as of the end of the 2009 to 2010 season, the Flyers were the second best team in the NHL with an all-time winning percentage of .576. Out of all the expansion teams, the Flyers hold the bragging rights to having the most semifinal and conference final appearances as well as the most playoff appearances.

Over the years, the franchise has earned the title of the second best all-time points percentage in all of the NHL - they fall just behind the Montreal Canadiens. Though some might assume this would make the Canadiens the Flyers' biggest rival, the Philly home team instead has beef with the nearby New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils. With multiple Stanley Cups under their belts, it's easy to see why fans flock to Flyers games.

If a little history alone doesn't make you want to run out and snatch up some Philadelphia Flyers tickets right now then let the humor of some squirrelly traditions get you on your way.

Though it would appear that fans tossing hats on the ice at their team would be an insult, it's not. The fans are merely celebrating a player scoring three goals in a game, referred to as a hat trick. Along the same lines, chants of "sieve," "it’s all your fault" and "you just suck" might reverberate through the crowd. Well, that's just par for the course as fans rib their goaltender.

Now that you have a little knowledge under your belt, hit the rink and see what the thrill is about! Whether you are already a Flyers fan or a hockey newcomer, there is nothing like seeing the Philadelphia Flyers LIVE. Experience a great sport, great team and a great time for all. Become part history in the making and get your Philadelphia Flyers tickets now!
