Pelican Concert Tickets

Pelican is an instrumental metal and post-rock band hailing from Des Plaines, Illinois, a small city just outside of Chicago. Founded initially in 2001, Pelican has been signed to multiple record labels including Hydra Head Records and Southern Lord Records. Known for their melodic use of heavy guitar riffs and percussion as well as lengthy recordings, Pelican have become a favorite among fans of metalcore and progressive rock. While the band has resisted self-categorization or definition of their sound on numerous occasions, Pelican tickets would make a great gift for any jam, metal or rock fan.

After releasing a self-titled EP in 2001, the band’s debut album, Australasia, was released in 2003 under the Hydra Head Records label. Despite an immensely positive critical reception of the work, guitarist Trevor de Brauw noted publicly several times that the recording sessions had been rushed due to construction on their studio. Pelican would go on to release two more albums while signed to Hydra Head Records, The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw and City of Echoes, which were released in 2005 and 2007, respectively. With each new recording, Pelican reinvents their sound into something slightly different from their former albums, making them one of the most exciting bands to see perform live.
