Great Indy Car Venue
By Erik from Losantville, IN on 9/11/2008
Pros:
Very competetive racing

I read about traffic contol problems but I got out in less than an hour with little problem. For a cookie cutter mile and a half they put on a great show.

What a Bust
By Formerly Unabashed IRL Fan from Kankakee, IL on 9/9/2008
Pros:
Best Racing Series, Great race, Great Style Of Play, Stadium Packed
Cons:
Bad Food, BAD PARKING, Crowd Could Not Care Less, Expensive food, Inaudible PA System, Officiating Problems, Traffic getting out, Venue Could Not Care Less, Victory Celebration
Best For:
I'm not sure

1. The parking and traffic direction was terrible in comparison with previous years.2. I paid [$]for a hot dog that was cooked in 1974.3. Chicagoland's practice of selling tickets in a season package rather than by the event ensures that the stands are full of people--the wrong people! I would rather sit with 50 people who really love and know something about Indycar racing than to be surrounded by 50,000 NASCAR-istas. These people do not understand Indycar racing, they show not one iota of enthusiasm for the racing, and they're nasty!4. Get a new Track announcer! That "howdy-doody" guy is so annoying when you can hear him. Also, he never says anything or provides any information when the cars are on the back stretch under yellow, only when things are noisy.5. Turn up the volume on the PA system.6. I'll save most of the things I have to say about IRL management, except to say that officiating biases and inconsistencies that have been exacerbated over the past few weeks led to the premature announcement of Scott Dixon as the race winner, and that spoiled the race for everyone. IRL wants to make it look like a technical snafu, and maybe it was, but you don't proclaim the winner until you're sure.7. The issue of how to handle victory celebrations when the race winner and the championship winner are different has long been under my skin. The race winner comes FIRST, THEN the championship winner.7. It may seem trite, but we did not get to see Helio climb the fence, which would have been a great media moment.8. They confiscated my umbrella (What can you do with an umbrella?), which was packed up and carried away by the time I came out.

Open Wheel Tickets

Die-hard and fledgling racing fans alike are kept on the edge of their seats by the high-speed action of open wheel racing. This pastime has been a staple in the racing industry since becoming a sanctioned sport in the 1950s, but it has had a burst of growth in popularity over the past few years. Open Wheel tickets are a hot commodity, so get yours today and take part in the excitement.

Some of the most widely known competitions in open wheel racing include Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach as well as Formula One's US Grand Prix, Monaco Grand Prix and Singapore Grand Prix. Of course, the most popular open wheel race is the annual Indianapolis 500 - a 200-lap, oval-track race that is the largest one-day sporting event in the world. In fact, the race is attributed with giving the sport its popularity, and open wheel cars are widely called "Indy Cars."

This unique sport features cars that typically have one seat, an open cockpit, a rear-housed engine and wheels outside the main body (rather than the more common below-body wheel structure). They're specially designed to pick up top speeds, so the races are guaranteed to be exhilarating. Don't miss out on the adrenaline-pumping excitement. Grab your Open Wheel tickets today!
