Patricia Kaas Concert Tickets

French-born singer Patricia Kaas, also know as the "French Madonna," took an interest in music when she was just 8 years old. At this age she was already singing songs by Claude Francois, Sylvie Vartan and Mireille Mathieu at various small events, like her brother's wedding. At age 11, she held a residence at the Rumpelkammer Club in Sarrebrucken, Germany, using that experience to sharpen a distinct style, updating the French chanson tradition with elements of jazz, blues and pop. In 1987, Kaas had her first national hit with "Mademoiselle Chante le Blues," and was named Female Newcomer of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique, an annual French award show that recognizes outstanding achievement in the music industry. During the early 1990s, she toured the globe, becoming the first Western-born female performer to play in Hanoi since the end of the conflict in Vietnam.

Her 1993 album, Je te dis vous, which translates to "I told you," was her definitive breakthrough in the international music scene, selling approximately three million copies in 47 countries. The album had one song in German and three tracks in English, including a cover of the James Brown number, "It's A Man's World." British rock musician Chris Rea also contributed to the album, accompanying Kaas on the tracks "Out Of The Rain" and "Ceux qui n'ont rien."
