OZZFEST 2008 ROCKED!
By Cea* from Dallas, TX on 8/14/2008
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Perfect Set List
Cons:
PHP Dress Code, Too Hot
Best For:
Everyone

August in TX is hot as hell, but Ozzfest 2008 was well worth braving the heat. There were about 20 bands on 3 different stages that played for 14 hours. Goat W (they won't allow the other 4 letters after the W to be submitted- they say it's profane) was a trip, the Destro rocked on the 2nd & 3rd stages as we kicked off the day. Apocalyptica really rocked those orchestral instruments. From listening to them, I had no idea that is what they were playing. Drowning Pool rocked the Monster stage while Shadows Fall took the main. I heard SF rocked, but I wasn't about to miss Drowning Pool. And I got no regrets. Hell Yeah is definitely a fun name to holler, and of course they're awesome- Vinnie Paul's the drummer. The Dimebag Tribute followed and they flashed all kinds of pics of Dimebag on the big screen. He was so there with us. We miss u, Dime- R.I.P. Ozzy & Zakk took over and they owned it. They are so much fun. Ozzy just loves the fans. He was spraying foam and throwing water from red buckets. I could watch Zakk jam with his guitar 'til I pass out & then dream about him. He rocked an awesome solo. Ozzy & Zakk gave us about an extra half hour in encores before they left us with a fireworks show. I love those guys! Fans did the wave until Metallica took the stage. Of course, they rocked! They played a lot of their older music, but treated us to their new single 'Cyanide' from 'Death Magnetic' due out soon. Metallica RULES! ~Cea*

"Worth all the misery& empy wallet!"
By Metal Head from amarillo, TX. on 8/12/2008
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great entertainment, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Much talent, Perfect Set List
Cons:
Long drive, No sunscreen
Best For:
Metal Heads

The drive was long going and almost deadly leaving and the sun baked unprotected skin, BUT the music redeemed the trip. Apocalyptica was mindblowing LIVE, and of course, Ozzy, Zakk Wylde, and Metallica were kick ---! Kerri King was a wicked surprise and I even enjoyed Serj Tanken(sp?) Pizza Park was huge with lots of food available, if you're rich! You also have to be rich to drink the water there! Overall, Ozzfest was incredible. I definitely want to do it again. [...]

OZZFEST 08' -Does NOT Dissappoint!!!!!
By Brian Old School from Glen Rose, Texas on 8/11/2008
Pros:
Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Encores, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Perfect Set List
Cons:
Opening Acts Sucked, Too Hot
Best For:
Best show ever, Everyone

Ozzy, Metallica and Hell Yeah should have come alone!! The opening acts were mere "time killers". It is hard to believe Ozzy, who has been around 40ish years now, still ROCKS your world to OBLIVION!!! AND sounds phenominal!! He's a true PRO in every sense. Like wise, Metallica, who is at least half made up of 40 year old Dads, STILL BLOW YOUR FREAKING MIND!! Near 30 years of their own in the business and their relevance is not a question. AMAZING SHOW! The only complaint I have is that after a full day in 100 degree weather, I was too beat to FULLY enjoy the headline acts. I had to sit down through half of Metallica and that's just wrong. I should have given them their due respect and jumped up and down screaming til my head EXPLODED! They were THAT good.
