Ole Miss Basketball Tickets

The University of Mississippi, otherwise known as Ole Miss, is the state's largest institution. The school boasts an astounding athletic program, offering eight women's sports and six men's, one of them being basketball. Don't miss the opportunity to see the men's team fight their way to victory. Get your Ole Miss basketball tickets today.

The history of the Ole Miss basketball team goes back many years. The first game was played on January 28, 1909 against the Memphis Physicians. Unlike today's games that take place on an indoor court, this matchup was played outdoors. Unfortunately, the Ole Miss men's basketball team didn't experience a victory until February 17, 1909 when they went head-to-head with Mississippi College, coming out with a 28-11 win.

Over the years, this organization has experienced much success. The year 1981 was a big one for the Rebels. Ole Miss entered the SEC Tournament Championship game as the underdogs, but astoundingly came away with a win. They surpassed Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Georgia for their very first NCAA Tournament victory.

Plenty of athletes from the Ole Miss basketball program have gone on to play in the NBA. John Billups was drafted in the fifth round and signed to the Denver Nuggets, where he played with the team for the 1977-1978 season. Denver Brackeen was also drafted in the fifth round, but headed to the New York Knicks, where he played for four years.
