Oakland Raiders Tickets

Few teams have a more distinctive culture than the Oakland Raiders. Their fan base, iconic uniforms and long history of success make them among the most recognizable franchises in the National Football League, and anyone who picks up Oakland Raiders tickets is surely in for a unique experience.

The Oakland Raiders are members of the West Division of the AFC. The Raiders have been playing since 1960, and came over to the NFL when it merged with the AFL 10 years later. The team currently plays home games at Coliseum located in sunny Oakland, California. Out of the starting gate the Raiders had a difficult time and struggled to make a go of it for the first three years of their professional football career. The team finished their first season with a 6-8 record. In 1962 the Raiders sunk to the bottom of the league with a 1-13 record.

Then in 1963, after some personnel changes, the team began what would become decades of success for the West Coast NFL franchise. From 1963 to 2002, the Oakland Raiders tucked a smorgasbord of titles under their proverbial belts. Starting in 1967, when they swept the AFL Championship and several division titles leading into to their NFL life with multiple Super Bowl triumphs, the Raiders accomplished what very few teams can.

In 1967 the Raiders found themselves facing off against their geographic rival, the San Francisco 49ers in an exhibition game often referred to as the “Battle of the Bay.” The exhibition game pitted the AFL against the NFL team in which San Francisco took home the win for the NFL. Oakland enjoyed irregular success during their early years, but it wasn’t until the arrival of legendary coach John Madden that they reached new heights.

In 1976, he led the Raiders to their first Super Bowl title and helped establish a culture of winning that persisted after he left. Madden’s work was partly responsible for the Raiders’ impressive streak of success in the early 1980s. Led by Hall of Famers such as Gene Upshaw, Marcus Allen and Howie Long, the Raiders captured Super Bowl titles in both 1980 and 1983.

Even the 1982 move to Los Angeles couldn’t interrupt the Raiders’momentum. In the professional sporting world the more successful a team is the more rivalries they tend to accrue, the Oakland Raiders being no exception. Divisionally the Raiders go head-to-head with the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.

There’s no denying that Raiders fans are as passionate as ever, and with a roster full of young talent it may not be long before the Raiders hoist another Lombardi Trophy. Don’t miss your chance to see the Oakland Raiders play! Buy your tickets now!
