What a bittersweet experience! I've never been so torn at a show before, to feel saddened and exuberant all at once! They finally performed Sabra Girl from This Side at a show that I attended, so I was beyond thrilled with that. My seats wound up being 8 feet or less from the stage, so I certainly felt highly involved the entire time. If ever onstage improvisation was not only creative but wholly beautiful, it was at the Ryman with Nickel Creek onstage.
I drove from Gainesville to Jacksonville only to then discover that the concert had been canceled very frustrating!
The show was most enjoyable because our seats were four rows away from the stage and we were able to see all of the band members very well. I was bummed that I didn't bring my camera. The music was excellent. They just didn't play all of the songs that I would like to have heard.
i had never seen or even heard Nickle Creek, but instantly liked them and would go again if or when they are around. but I really went to see Fiona and I was so impressed with her that I mostly found myself waiting for more from her. She has a subtle and modest, but powerful command of presence..it was very cool to watch. No wonder she has so many dedicated fans..
