Crowd Was In To It, Engaging Stage Presence, Great Sound
Best For:

What a night it was...Kelsey Grammer was born to play this role, and the entire cast was so perfectly in sync with him...great voices, stage prescence by all, delightfully cockney hamming it up was Brian Dennehy...Charles Kimbrough was a perfect foil for Grammer to play off, and what can be said of Kelli O'Conner's singing...superb is not enough....It was nostalgic to see Marni nixon again in this show....."Oh, What a night!" where are my damn slippers

classy experience, and enjoyment
By not leaving one from ny on 9/20/2006
Engaging Stage Presence, Great Lighting, Great Sound, Perfect Set List
dress code very lax
Best For:

I am not a regular at an event like this , but always wanted to go. I had a picture in my mind of what it would be, and wasn't dissapointed. My only complaint was the casual attaire of most patrons. I associate the philharmonic with classy, educated, well dressed people and was appalled by the hats, flip-flops and jeans. I would expect a dress code.

New York Philharmonic Theater Tickets

As one of the so-called Big Five orchestras in the United States, the New York Philharmonic is undoubtedly a must see. The renowned symphony is the oldest in the country and has been wowing audiences for more than 160 years, so it's no surprise New York Philharmonic tickets continue to be popular today.

The history of the New York Philharmonic dates back to 1842, when it first performed for a crowd of around 600. In the years after, the size of the band - and the audiences - grew considerably, and by the turn of the century, the orchestra was among the most popular acts in the United States. Throughout much of the 20th century, the group's influence continued to broaden as it introduced new audiences to classical music.

Since 2009, the New York Philharmonic has been led by legendary conductor Alan Gilbert. He has helped continue the tradition of the orchestra, which has performed well over 14,000 times in its illustrious career. Gilbert has built his name on conducting contemporary and American music, and his appointment by the Philharmonic indicates a shift by the orchestra away from conservatives like Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, and Zubin Mehta. Whether you're a classical music veteran or a novice, you are sure to enjoy the New York Philharmonic. Buy your New York Philharmonic tickets now!
