New York Knicks Basketball Tickets

They play their home games at the world's most famous arena - Madison Square Garden - so it's no surprise the New York Knicks are one of the banner franchises in the National Basketball Association. For more than 65 years, they have seemingly been a perennial contender, and their loyal fans pick up New York Knicks tickets whenever given the opportunity.

Always known by their New York Knicks title, the franchise has been nestled in New York for over six decades. The New York Knicks, short for Knickerbockers, began their basketball journey in 1946. Along with the Boston Celtics, they are one of two teams to still be located in their original city.

The Knicks can trace their roots back to 1946, but it wasn't until the late 1960s that they really hit their stride. During the early 60s, the Knicks faced hardship on the basketball court. Their team records were plagued with heavy losses for years to come. In 67 they finally made a comeback and advanced to the NBA playoffs for the first time in eight years.

By the end of the decade, they had turned things around, becoming one of the best teams in the NBA, and later reached their first championship series against the Los Angeles Lakers in 1970. Led by the stellar play of Willis Reed, the Knicks managed to bring New York its long-awaited first title. Reed helped them repeat the accomplishment three years later when they beat the Lakers once again.

Though they failed to recapture the string of success they enjoyed in the late 60s and early 70s, the Knicks still remained a regular playoff presence. 1984 saw the Knicks draft star center Patrick Ewing to the team. Ewing's talent coupled with a new head coach launched the team into the playoffs and set a precedent for what was to come in the Knicks future. With legendary players such as Patrick Ewing and John Starks, the Knicks were never far from contention throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Today, they enjoy a re-invigorated fan base and Madison Square Garden is still one of the best venues in the league.

One of New York City's most beloved teams, the franchise has been home to Basketball Hall of Famers and notable players like Earl Monroe, Larry brown, Stu Jackson and Phil Jackson. Members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, a few of the Knicks' adversaries include the Chicago Bulls, New Jersey Nets and the Miami Heat.

A great ticket anytime, the reviews declare that a Knicks game is a great experience for the whole family. This year could belong to the New York Knicks! Make sure you are courtside at Madison Square Garden with your favorite players when you purchase New York Knicks tickets today!
