New York Jets Tickets

They may be the younger of the two franchises in the Big Apple, but the New York Jets have a loyal fan base of their own. Over the last 50-plus years, they have played in some of the most memorable games in football history, and New York Jets tickets are among the most coveted items in the National Football League.

The New York Jets are members of the East Division of the AFC. The Jets can trace their roots back to 1959, when they were originally known as the Titans of New York up until an ownership change, but by 1963 they had adopted their current name. Currently the team plays home games at MetLife Stadium (formerly New Meadowlands Stadium) located in the suburb of East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Jets share the stadium with cross-town rivals New York Giants.

In the early years the Jets enjoyed a position of prominence thanks to the legendary quarterback Joe Namath. It wasn’t long before they were making waves in the football world, especially in 1969 when they turned heads in Super Bowl III. Led by “Broadway” Joe Namath, the Jets pulled off one of the most stunning upsets in league history - defeating the heavily favored Baltimore Colts 16-7. Demand was high for New York Jets tickets.

However, like many of the professional football teams that were rolled into the NFL in 1970 after its merger with the AFL, the New York Jets entered an era of mediocrity. Not until the 1980s would the team see a return to glory. Starting in 1981, the Jets began the slow climb back up the ladder of success. In 1985 the team accrued a record of 11-5 leading them to host, as well as participate in their first Playoff in four years. They were defeated by their New England Patriots rivals in the first round. While the team made several Playoff appearances throughout the 80s they didn’t take a division title until 1998.

On many occasions the Jets started their season with a fury only to be stopped in their tracks by the latest NFL strike. For the near future, history would keep repeating itself and the New York Jets would go on to almost make it in many of their seasons. Wins and losses aside, the team kept up their division rivalries with the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, as well as maintained their historical contention with the West Coast Oakland Raiders.

More recently, the Jets have continued to make the front page of sports sections across the country. Whether it is Mark Sanchez leading them to back-to-back AFC Championship games or their stalwart defense stopping Tom Brady in his tracks, life is never boring for fans of the New York Jets. Get in on the action and buy your New York Jets tickets today!
