I grew up with hockey; but it was my wives first hockey game...we both absolutely loved it and will do it again.

Have to see thisin person. TV does not do hockey justice.
The Pred fans shook the rafters and the Preds shook the Red Wings with a 3-2 win to tie up the series. Unbelievable energy and crowd noise! Fans lifted the Preds in the final minutes to hold off Detroit for the win. Playoff hockey at its best!!

The Nashville Predators, established in 1997, are a professional ice hockey team that are part of the Western Conference of the NHL. Current members of the Central Division, the Predators play their home games at Bridgestone Arena located in Nashville, Tennessee. The Predators played their first game on local ice losing to the Florida Panthers, 1-0. Just three nights later the Predators acquired their first win when they beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2. The team finished out their freshman season second to last with a 28-47-7 record. A second season mimicked the first with an almost identical record for the tenderfoot NHL expansion team. In 2000 the Predators started the season with a win against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Japan, but finished out the season just points short of a playoff spot. The Nashville Predators made their first playoff showing in their sixth season only to be swept by the powerhouse Detroit Red Wings in six games. Lack of conference and Central Division championship titles aside, the Nashville Predators have a hardcore fan base. These hockey enthusiasts have instituted traditions such as tossing catfish on the ice and performing the standing O in which fans stand the entire final TV timeout. Such fan fervor has kept sales of Nashville Predators tickets going at a steady pace as well as kept up team confidence. After the first instance of the standing O the team went on to beat the St. Louis Blues and go forward to the playoffs. While the Predators have made it to the playoffs on several occasions, they have yet to come within a stones throw of the Stanley Cup Finals. Still, the Predators face off against divisional rivals Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets in hope of hip-checking their way to a shot at the coveted Stanley Cup.
