Mumford & Sons Concert Tickets

Mumford & Sons are one of the driving forces behind the current renaissance that folk music has been experiencing, both in the U.S. and abroad. Hailing from Great Britain, the band took radio waves and record sales by storm across the late 2000s and 2010s with their infectious blend of folk, rock, country and ballad style songwriting. Often spoken of as a more commercially successful version of Noah and the Whale, Mumford & Sons have earned a place among folk purists and new converts to the genre alike with their unrelenting charm, beautiful lyricism and inspired instrumentalism. If you’re looking for an evening of hybrid sound and an incredibly high energy performance, then purchase your Mumford & Sons tickets today!

Unsurprisingly, Mumford & Sons come from much more humble beginnings than their current superstar status might indicate. Formed in early 2007 in West London, the band consists of four members: Winston Marshall, Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane. All four members of the band are multi-instrumentalists, often playing various instruments throughout the course of any given show to help deliver their signature sound. While Mumford is known as the lead singer of the group, all four members also sing some of the group’s material, accounting for the magnificent harmonies that the band has come to be known for. The band’s first EP, Love Your Ground, was recorded in 2007 but received little attention initially. Nonetheless, the group kept at it.

The rise
While Love Your Ground was not much of a commercial success, it did aid Mumford & Sons in finding their way to more considerable fame. The album was a hit among fans of folk music, and the group began to play shows in modest venues over the next two years. While these shows predominantly occurred in England, several also took place in the U.S., laying the foundation for a fan base stateside. Ultimately, the group’s first full length album, Sigh No More, was released in Europe and the U.S. in 2009 and 2010, respectively. The album was an incredible success, driven by hits such as “Sigh No More,” “The Cave” and “Little Lion Man.” It sold more than 2 million albums in the U.S. and more than double that in the U.K. The band’s sophomore effort, Babel hit stores in September 2012 and sold incredibly well in both Europe and the U.S.

Critical reception
Following the release of their freshman album, Mumford & Sons found themselves in a veritable landslide of critical acclaim. While all of their awards and accolades are noteworthy, one telling statistic is that between 2011 and 2013, the group received a total of 12 separate Grammy Award nominations, for which they won two: album of the year in 2013 for Babel and best long form music video in 2013 for “Big Easy Express.” In addition to the Grammys, Mumford & Sons have also won a Q Award, an NME Award, a Juno Award and several Billboard Music Awards.
