Anyone who does not understand the plot????!!! Movin on this is the best show I have seen, the dancing is none stop and goes with some great music. It is very refresing to see instead of some of the cheesey musicals out there. We need more shows like this.
This show was very energetic and made you smile the whole way through it... can't get enough of Billy Joel!
This show is definitely a dancers dream show!! Fantastic choreography and simply perfect dancers portraying a loose story line of fabulous songs. It was mesmerizing , as a dancer I want to see it again!! This is not a traditional musical and it never was described as one, so those who were disappointed should research their choices.

Attended a touring production of "Movin' Out" at Duke University on November 19, 2008. I knew the format of the show ("cover" band playing Bill Joel songs with choreographed dance numbers on the stage). The "plot" was a guessing game guided mostly by exaggerated and sometimes idiotic pantomime moves by the non-speaking, non-singing dancers. The choreography was repetitive and sometimes ridiculous in the context of certain songs. The company was uneven in terms of dancing skills. The Piano Man singing all of the songs was good (and the best part of the show) but at times seemed to slip in and out of various levels of a Billy Joel impersonation. In the end, I could not help but think that the original Billy Joel recordings of all of the songs in the show simply cannot be beat, and they are not accompanied by distracting and repetitive dancing and a forced attempt to string a bunch of songs together with a contrived plot.
