Minnesota Twins Baseball Tickets

Minnesota residents are all about their baseball team the Twins, not only for the name, which honors the state's famous "Twin Cities," but also for its long history. Established in 1894, the Twins were originally housed in Kansas City, Missouri. Members of the American League dating back to 1901, the Twins are a club with a developed, lengthy history that is steeped in tradition. Fully capable of mixing things up on the diamond, the Twins could snag this season's championship title. Don't miss a moment of the action; get your Minnesota Twins tickets today!

The current Central Division team began its career under another moniker. Originally known as the Kansas City Blues, the franchise then moved to Washington in 1901 to become one of the original eight American League teams. The franchise boasted some success during the 1920s and 30s, thanks to big name players like Bucky Harris, Goose Goslin, Sam Rice, Joe Cronin and Walter Johnson, who have all made it into the coveted Baseball Hall of Fame. The team won one World Series titles during this time, in 1924.

During the Twins' time in D.C., the American League franchise underwent a name change. It became the Washington Senators, though many referred to the team as the Washington Nationals. Even though the clubhouse didn't gain much of a following for its players' skills on the field, the team did gain popularity due to its feature in the 1955 Broadway smash, "Damn Yankees."

By 1960, Minneapolis asked for an expansion team and Calvin Griffith, the owner of the Washington team, requested to move his clubhouse back to Minnesota. The request to move the clubhouse was granted and the team officially returned to its original name shortly thereafter. The Minnesota Twins went on to earn two World Series titles in 1987 and 1991 along with multiple American League pennants and Central Division titles.

Despite where they were based or what their team title was, baseball lineup has seen plenty of play. Past Twins' rosters are padded with Baseball Hall of Famers including Bucky Harris, Rod Carew and Kirby Puckett. Contentions are the custom within the MLB, the Minnesota Twins not being exempt. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the Twins historical rival, dating back to a 1965 loss against the west coast team in that year's World Series. Current contentions seem to fall within the Central Division lining up the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians not far behind.

Regardless if they are home or away, the Twins draw crowds of fans that love the team's level of play! Fans can take in the action at Target Field by picking up Minnesota Twins tickets the next time they're in the Twin Cities.
