Megadeth Concert Tickets

Of all the heavy metal bands of the 1980s, few have had such a long-lasting impact as Megadeth. Since they were formed in 1983, the Los Angeles-based rockers have been pushing the envelope in the studio and on stage, making Megadeth tickets some of the most popular in the heavy metal world.

Megadeth was founded by David Mustaine after he left heavy metal forebears Metallica. Despite leaving the iconic band, Mustaine made a name for himself in his new group. After some initial struggles, Megadeth released its debut Killing is My Business...and Business is Good! in 1985. A moderate success, the record helped lay the groundwork for the next decade.

After their debut, Megadeth achieved its first mainstream success with the 1986 album Peace Sells...but Who's Buying. The record sold more than 1 million copies in the United States thanks in large part to the singles "Peace Sells" and "Wake Up Dead." Heating up the tour circuit, the band took to the stage with Alice Cooper, King Diamond, Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies.

The band's next album So Far, So Good …So What! hit all the right notes with tunes like the haunting "Mary Jane," "In My Darkest Hour" and "Hook in Mouth" which was inspired by the then current event involving the PMRC's attempts at censorship.

In the year's since Megadeth's debut, the band has gone through a lot of ups and downs, but Mustaine and the gang has never strayed from their roots. Whether it was the 1994 hit Youthinasia or 2011's Thirteen.
