Maui Invitational Basketball Tickets

While many people head out to the Hawaiian island of Maui for the warm sun and surf, some of college sports' best are making an appearance at the Maui Invitational, an NCAA men's basketball tournament hosted by private Catholic Marianist college Chaminade University of Honolulu. Each year, the students from Chaminade University hop on a 20-minute plane to Maui to take part in the tournament. Don't miss your chance to see some of the nation's best schools take the court and get your Maui Invitational tickets today.

The Maui Invitational started in 1984, and only featured three teams. Though teams from Davidson, Providence and Virginia put on stellar performances, it was Providence that managed to come away as the EA Sports Maui Invitational Champion. This was actually a great upset, as Virginia was expected to come out on top.

Since the tournament's inception, 99 schools have fought for the title. The teams that vied for the title in 2013 included Arkansas, Minnesota, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Dayton, California and Baylor. Despite Gonzaga beating out six other teams and winning it all in 2009, it was Syracuse that became the top team of the 2013 Maui Invitational. Syracuse had actually won the tournament twice in the past, once in 1990 and again in 1998.
