Marshall Tucker Band Concert Tickets

The 70s sparked a love for disco as well as Southern rock. One band that helped bring the latter genre into the light is the Marshall Tucker Band for its ability to combine rock, country and jazz. The group's captivating sound made picking up Marshall Tucker Band tickets a goal for fans of all ages.

Founded in 1971 by singer Doug Gray, guitarist Toy Caldwell, bassist Tommy Caldwell, guitarist George McCorkle, drummer Paul Riddle and reed player Jerry Eubanks, the members worked hard to develop a sound different than other southern bands around. Though each person helped shape the flair of the band, it was Toy Caldwell's skills on the guitar that truly garnered attention from fans and critics alike.

The Marshall Tucker Band was signed by Capricorn records and released its first self-titled album in 1973. The group's popularity grew further when they went on tour to promote the record with the already famous Allman Brothers. Throughout the 70s, the Marshall Tucker Band continued to crank out hits, one of which, "Heard It in a Love Song," made it into the top 15 on the charts.

Following the success of the 70s, the band hit a rough patch when Tommy Caldwell was killed in a car crash in 1980. His brother Toy decided to attempt a solo career, leaving the band in limbo. However, by 1983, founding members Gray and Eubanks started recorded again, hitting the road a year later with their new sound and recorded with popular artists like Garth Brooks.

The group continued to lose and gain members throughout the 1990s and 2000s, but have kept cranking out songs throughout it all. Following their 2013 concert, they released a LIVE recording with all the original members, Live! From Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Marshall Tucker Band continues to tour to the delight of Southern rock fans everywhere. Jump at your opportunity to see this rocking band. Get your Marshall Tucker Band tickets today!
