We were very disappointed with the main characters, mother and daughter. Felt they overacted. The characters that played Donna's friends were the best part of the play. They did an excellent job. The young lady that played Donna's snooty friend should be considered for the lead. Too much money for an amateur production.
Fun and high energy show that begs for audience participation, was singing and dancing with all the rest.Taking a friend for her birthday

I had the best date of my life with my then new girlfriend, now wife. Thanks, Mamma Mia! (The show was good too.)

First off: perhaps this would have been a better experience if we had seen it in a larger theater. We paid way too much for such a sophomoric production. My eleven year old son was horrified by the inferences in the storyline as well. I didn't realize how obvious it would be. The sets were simple, the story poorly scripted, and the songs annoying. I wish I could get a refund.

Mamma Mia! the musical is based on the music of Swedish pop band ABBA. The fictional storyline was developed by an English playwright, Catherine Johnson, with the input of previous ABBA members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. The musical tale tells the story of a young Greek woman on a personal journey to find her father so that he can walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. The original London production opened in 1999, and was later transferred to another theater where it continued to wow audiences. Once the production won a Laurence Olivier Award, Mamma Mia! tickets were impossible to keep in the box office. The initial Broadway theater production debuted in 2001 and continued to run for more than a decade. Ever since the show’s Broadway coming out, it has continued to traverse the globe with performances in everywhere from Russia and Dubai to China and South Africa. By the time that 2011 rolled around, Mamma Mia! exceeded Miss Saigon and Damn Yankees in regards to running time with over 4,000 performances. The theater adaptation of classic Europop favorites has proven its staying power. The theatergoer reviews call the musical production “absolutely terrific!” Treat yourself to a night of song and dance by purchasing Mamma Mia! theater tickets now!
