No Bad Luck in Stewart's "Macbeth"
By Rob the Shakespeare Lover from Holmdel, NJ on 5/6/2008
Pros:
Audience Loved It, Brilliant Acting, Engaging Plot
Best For:
Everyone

Overall, the show was great. The performances of Macbeth and Macduff were above reproach, though Lady Macbeth needed to get more in tune with her character. The set was plain, but this certainly fit the director;s vision (which was, by the way, a unique portrayal). I highly recommend, and am only sad it is such a limited run!

Macbeth Theater Tickets

Arguably Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, Macbeth is the story of an ambitious power couple whose reach exceeded their grasp. Set in Scotland, it is the story of a heroic general who, spurred on by his wife, Lady Macbeth, and the prophecy of three witches, kills the King of Scotland and usurps the throne. It’s a story of intrigue, drama, violence and evil that has long been considered one of the greatest plays in the English repertory. Don't miss your chance to see this stunning marvel in person. Buy your Macbeth tickets today.

For more than 400 years, Macbeth has captured the imaginations of audiences around the world. The themes of power, madness, betrayal, murder and deception all add up to create intense, driving action that is as affecting as anything you'll see on stage.

As Macbeth and his wife kill their way to the throne, then kill even more to secure their hold on it, the blood begins to rise up until it consumes them both in madness. The play’s mystical elements - most notable the witches and their famous “double, double, toil and trouble” scene at the beginning of the play - lend an ethereal air to the performance that serves to make it even creepier and more impactful.
