M83 Concert Tickets

Named after the spiral galaxy Messier 83, the electronic pop band out of France, M83, has been lighting up stages since 2001. Once formed, the band’s self-titled debut album followed quickly. While the effort didn’t breach international walls, it was a success in Europe that left fans clamoring for M83 tickets.

M83 released their sophomore album Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts in 2003, and by the time it reached North American shores in 2004 it was receiving critical acclaim. Now on the international radar, M83’s initial release was picked up and reissued in 2005, the same year they rolled out their third album Before the Dawn Heals Us. By this time M83 was hitting the festival circuit with Coldplay, Interpol and Arcade Fire.

Following their newfound international stardom, M83 released the ambient effort Digital Shades Vol. 1 in 2007. Even with a packed tour schedule, the band amazingly released album number five Saturdays = Youth in early 2008. Soon after they hopped on tour again to support Kings of Leon across the UK and the The Killers across the US. Therefore it was no surprise that with such a hectic schedule M83 didn’t release Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming until 2011.

Fans of the band don’t mind waiting though, and always look forward to the next M83 goes on tour. Check out the international electropop sensation that’s heating up; purchase your M83 concert tickets today!

M83 Biography

In 2003, Frenchmen Anthony Gonzalez and Nicolas Fromageau enjoyed international acclaim for the album Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, a luscious blend of shoegaze aesthetics, ambient pop, and progressive textures. But M83 had been releasing material for several years, having issued their self-titled debut through the tiny but taste-making French label Gooom in 2001. The success of Dead Cities, Red Seas brought attention not only to M83, but also to the Gooom label, which helped fuel the popularity of other glitchy, sleek, and vaguely psychedelic artists like Cyann & Ben. Fromageau departed the lineup after the second album, looking to pursue solo work instead, and Gonzalez returned to the studio for a follow-up record. When Before the Dawn Heals Us appeared in January 2005, the addition of vocals and more consistent rhythms made it M83's most cohesive album yet. After finishing the subsequent tour, Gonzalez recorded Digital Shades, Vol. 1, a set of ambient songs inspired by Brian Eno and Krautrock that arrived in 2007. Gonzalez then worked with producers Ewan Pearson and Ken Thomas on the critically acclaimed SaturdaysYouth, which was released in April 2008. After extended touring in support of that album, Gonzales collaborated with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Medicine's Brad Laner, longtime vocalist Morgan Kibby, and Zola Jesus on the sprawling double-disc set Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, which arrived in October 2011. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
