Louisville Cardinals College Football Tickets
During their history, the Louisville Cardinals college football team has had trouble finding a home. But although they have been in several different conferences over the years, their commitment to success has not wavered. Throughout much of the Cardinal's history they were an independent team. However, they still found success despite no conference affiliation. Most notably, Louisville rose to national prominence after Howard Schnellenberger took over the program in 1985. He helped turn the program around and even led the team to a Fiesta Bowl title in 1991 en route to a 10-1-1 finish.

The good fortunes of the Cardinals program continued throughout the 2000s when they finally found conference affiliation with the Big East in 2005. In 2006, the Louisville had what is considered its best season ever. The Cardinals went 12-1 to capture the Big East crown, and eventually won the Orange Bowl title over the ACC's champ Wake Forest.

Louisville's biggest rival is undoubtedly the University of Kentucky. The in-state foes have been playing each other since 1912. Starting in 1994 the winner has been awarded the coveted Governor's Cup.
