Wonderful evening at the Bowl

Choice of dining opts, Excellent singing, Great Sound, Large-screen closeups, Mahler's 8th symphony, Outdoor seating, Salonen's conducting
Cons:
Distracting attendees, Picnic noise during music

Able to listen quietly, Music Lovers, Open to new experiences, Prepared bring jackets
[...] Hadn't been to Hollywood Bowl for some 48 years, but it was as good as ever, and options for eating there were pretty good. (Some meals not as described.) Saw that the most fun was to be had by bringing own picnic including tablecloth, lights, etc. Folks who ate at their seats during the concert itself made noise, dropped things in the dark, generally were a distraction. Unclear why some folks were there ... do they have as much trouble paying attention and lasting out the concert hour when indoors? Would love to go again, however, with picnic in hand!
