Los Angeles Kings Hockey Tickets

The Los Angeles Kings, established in 1967, are a professional ice hockey team that are part of the Western Conference of the NHL. Current members of the Pacific Division, the Kings play their home games at Staples Center located in Los Angeles proper. The Kings played their first game in 1967 against the vigorous Philadelphia Flyers, defeating them and taking the game 4-2. Their first season saw the Kings finish second in their division. While the team enjoyed initial success in their first two seasons, starting in 1972 their performance began to waver. Tepid play led to reduced game attendance, saturating the market with available Los Angeles Kings tickets. After spending the mid-1970s shoring up their offensive firepower the team returned to competitive play, making it to the playoffs on several occasions to be beat by powerhouses like the Atlanta Flames and Boston Bruins.

In 1979 the Kings formed the then highest-scoring line combinations in NHL history, referred to as the "Triple Crown Line." Despite the Line's command on the ice, the team could not bust through the first round of the playoffs. Then in 1982, the Kings took down the Edmonton Oilers in one of the greatest comebacks in professional hockey history. While the team never made it past the first round for years to come, a 1988 trade acquiring Wayne Gretzky helped put a light at the end of the tunnel for the Los Angeles team. The early 1990s was an era of success for the franchise leading them to a Southeast Division championship win and eventually to conquering the Stanley Cup Finals in 1993. Subsequently the Los Angeles Kings returned to their ritual first round presence. The team continues to battle it out with division rivals the San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, Anaheim Ducks and Phoenix Coyotes in the hopes of regaining the obscure Stanley Cup.
