Logic, aka Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, didn’t always want to be a musician. Growing up without a father figure, he had to find his own path. After dropping out of high school, he began pouring his time into rap music. In 2010, Logic released his first mixtape, Young, Broke and Infamous. A year later, he released his second mixtape, Young Sinatra, earning him the attention of rap magazines like XXL. By 2012, Logic was being courted by multiple record labels, but decided to sign with Visionary Music Group. In 2013, Logic announced he would also begin releasing music under Def Jam Records.
