Kaiser Chiefs Concert Tickets

Kaiser Chiefs has certainly added its own indie twist on garage rock, injecting a new wave sound into hits such as “Ruby,” “I Predict A Riot,” “Never Miss a Beat” and “The Angry Mob.” After the band climbed charts in the U.K. before even penning a record deal, Kaiser Chiefs solidified its reputation with high-energy live performances. Named after a South African football team, Kaiser Chiefs is often associated with pop-punk stars such as Franz Ferdinand, the Futureheads, Arctic Monkeys and The Subways. Early Beginnings
Kaiser Chiefs consists of lead vocalist Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew “Whitey” White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick “Peanut” Baines and, more recently, drummer Vijay Mistry, who replaced Nick Hodgson in 2013. Rix, Baines and Hodgson all met in high school in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, where the band eventually formed in the late 1990s. While Rix and Baines left Leeds to attend school, Hodgson soon teamed up with White and Wilson to form the band Runston Parva. The name was eventually shortened to Parva when Baines and Rix joined the group, and the quintet soon gained a reputation in the region and signed to a small label.

Unfortunately, the label closed and left Parva adrift.  The band decided it was due for a new name and sound - thus, Kaiser Chiefs was born. In 2004, Kaiser Chiefs began touring internationally as an opening act and immediately earned a positive reputation among critics and fans. The band released its debut album, Employment, in 2005, which peaked at No. 2 on the U.K charts, went certified platinum five times and was shortlisted for a Mercury Award.

International Fame
It’s safe to say that Employment put Kaiser Chiefs into the public eye in countries across the globe. This success was followed by the band’s sophomore LP, Yours Truly, Angry Mob. Released in February 2007, the record reached the No. 1 position on U.K. charts and broke the top 50 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. By this time, Kaiser Chiefs had started to sell out shows to stadium-sized crowds and the band members continued to establish themselves as electrifying performers.

Off with Their Heads released about a year and a half later in October 2008, and was complemented by a U.K. arena tour. Kaiser Chiefs took a brief hiatus, but released a fourth album by 2011, titled The Future is Medieval in the U.K., and Start the Revolution Without Me in the U.S. After Kaiser Chiefs released a compilation album in 2012, Hodgson announced he was leaving the band to focus on other projects. With new drummer Mistry, the band released Education, Education, Education & War on March 31, 2014. Kaiser Chiefs released the single “Falling Awake” in March 2015 and continue to tour around the world.
