Juanes Concert Tickets

Born in Medellin, Columbia, in 1972, Juanes was interested in music from an early age, influenced by the sounds of Carlos Gardel, Soda Stereo, Led Zeppelin, Silvio Rodriguez and Jimi Hendrix. He learned play guitar at age 7 from his father and older brothers, learning traditional Latin boleros, tangos and cumbias in addition to Colombian folk music like vallenato and guasca. During his teen years, he was drawn to heavy metal, leading Jaunes to serve as the singer, guitarist and lead songwriter for the rock band Ekhymosis. They released seven albums in 10 years. Eventually he chose a solo career and moved to Los Angeles.

In 2000, Juanes released Fijate Bien which earned him seven Latin Grammy nominations, three of which he won including for Best New Artist.

Following his Grammy success, Juanes went back to the studio and came back with the single "A Dios le Pido," which spent 47 weeks on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart as well as four straight months on top of the Colombian chart, breaking Shakira's previous record.
