Jonny Lang
By jonny lang fan from Los Angeles. Ca on 9/1/2009
Pros:
Amazing show, He never disappoints, Incredible artist
Cons:
Could play even longer

I first heard Jonny at the Doheney Blues Festival in 2008. Since then, I try to see him every time he is in town. His band are professionals as is he. Jason Eckridge adds his own beautiful voice to a Stevie Wonder hit and Jonny is like a proud parent to his bandmates. I can take my grandkids or my hard core rock and roll buddies and no one is ever disappointed. Don't miss him if you get the chance to see this amazing performer who gives 1000% each and every minute he's on stage. And if Buddy Guy likes him that should give you a clue about the talent you will hear.

Worth the money
By brownsugar from st. paul, mn on 8/26/2008
Pros:
Great performance, Perfect seats, Ready to go again

i didn't tell my husband where we would be sitting so he was in shock when we got to our seats. We were able to see everything... the only thing i didn't like was the people that keep pasting every 15 minutes to go and get more beer.

Way too long!!!!
By Dehno from Minneapolis, MN on 8/26/2008
Pros:
Big head Todd, Buddy Guy, Johnny at first, The weather, Warm up bands

After a great day a the fair and having seen one other concert at the fair this year I was looming forward to seeing Johnny Lang. The warm up bands were perfect not too long and not to short, but then it was time for the main show. Johnny took the stage and rocked out played his heart mostly new one or two old songs but LONG solo's, He played so long that he didn't even have a chance to do an encore, as a matter of fact he almost didn't have a chance to say good night before the fireworks started. would I pay what I did again to see this show..... No.. but I became a bigger Buddy Guy fan and less of a Johnny Lang Fan. Sorry Johnny.

Jonny Lang Concert - Mountain Winery
By Reflection from Saratoga CA on 8/20/2008

The absolute most fantastic concert I've attended in 20 years! Jonny and his backup musicians are consummate musicians, not "boy band" members. The diversity of musical material and musical talent were extraordinary. The venue, Mountain Winery, was gorgeous...full moon, newly constructed ampitheater and walk-ways, lovely seating areas for eating/drinking, spectacular views. Only sour note was the amplification level for the "intro" band on stage before Jonny. Sound engineer must have been deaf. The amplification level made it impossible to hear the singer's words and painful to hear the music. I had to leave the ampitheater..but enjoyed the music from the VIP bar area where it was muffled!

Jonny Lang Concert Tickets

Blues music might not seem like the genre of choice for teens, but it's certainly the sound that inspired soulful musician Jonny Lang. Though people his own age might not be familiar with his music, plenty of older blues and jazz connoisseurs will likely pick up Jonny Lang tickets to see his skills in action.

Lang, who hails from Fargo, North Dakota, fell in love with jazz guitar riffs at age 12 when he went to his first Bad Medicine Blues Band concert. Shortly thereafter, Lang started jamming out with the band and by the age of 15, this wise-beyond-his-years teen released his first album, Lie to Me.

The young artist continued to play a large role in Bad Medicine, becoming the leader, at which time they changed the name to Kid Jonny Lang & the Big Band. By 1995, the newly-formed group put out their first album, Smokin'. After 10 years on the road, Lang had toured with bands such as the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and B.B. King.

Lang's unique sound enticed major record labels and he ultimately signed with A&M. The blues musician released his first major CD, Lie to Me, but his second effort in 1998, Wander This World, was better received by fans and critics. In 2007 he garnered the coveted Grammy Award for his album Turn Around. His latest, Live at the Ryman, came out in 2010. Whether singing solo or with his bluesy counterparts Jonny Lang is a must see!
